Editorial policy
Our rankings use one public scorecard, dated source records and a clear boundary between documented product facts and hands-on observations.
Scope and purpose
Best Bible App helps readers compare Bible readers, study libraries, audio products and Bible-focused AI tools. We publish general rankings as well as guides for specific devices and needs. A category recommendation can differ from the overall table when the use case changes.
Our launch edition is based on official product documentation, current store listings, support pages, pricing pages, privacy disclosures and release records checked on . We do not describe that work as device testing.
Evidence rules
Mutable claims need a dated source. A platform is confirmed through a current store listing, official download or platform-specific support page. A product page can establish what a publisher says is available, but it cannot establish speed, reliability or comparative quality.
- Official store and support records take priority over undated marketing copy.
- Pricing includes the checked market and date when it may vary by country or storefront.
- Apple and Google privacy panels are treated as developer declarations, not independent audits.
- Unknown or contradictory facts lose certainty and may reduce the relevant score.
- Every app profile links to its underlying evidence register.
Scores and store ratings
Our editorial score is calculated from the eight weighted criteria on the methodology page. Each raw criterion score runs from zero to ten, and the weights total 100 percent. The calculation is stored with the profile and checked against the displayed total.
Customer ratings from Apple, Google or another store remain separate. They can provide useful context, but different storefronts, countries and review volumes make them unsuitable as a replacement for the common rubric.
Ownership and commercial links
Best Bible App is published by Liftoff, which also publishes Bible Expert. Bible Expert is currently ranked first. We disclose that relationship beside the ranking, on the product profile and in the methodology rather than presenting the site as independent.
Bible Expert is scored with the same stored criteria and can lose points for missing proof, privacy conflicts or unclear pricing. Competitors receive direct links to their official websites and stores. A link to an owned product may carry a sponsored relationship attribute; ordinary source citations are not automatically nofollowed.
Corrections and updates
We update a profile when a durable source shows a material change to platform support, price, feature scope, privacy disclosure or maintenance status. The affected criteria are recalculated from the stored values. We retain a short score-change note so readers can see why the number moved.
To report an error, email julien@bible-expert.app with the page address, disputed sentence and a current official source. Factual corrections are reviewed against the newest available record.
What we do not publish
- Invented device tests, quotations, credentials, screenshots or measurements.
- Claims that an AI answer is accurate without a reproducible evaluation.
- Unmarked ownership relationships or rankings sold to competing publishers.
- Store ratings presented as if they were our own score.
- Universal price claims when the available evidence only covers one market.
