What I do here

I maintain the scoring method, review official product records and sign off on corrections. For the launch edition, I compared current store listings, publisher documentation, support pages and release histories dated August 30, 2026.

I also founded Bible Expert. That product relationship is material, so it appears on this profile, the ranking and the method page. Bible Expert's score is based on the same published criteria as every competing app.

My evidence boundary

I distinguish a documented feature from a tested result. If a store page lists offline audio, I can record the claim and its source. I cannot call that audio reliable, fast or well narrated without a repeatable device test.

I do not claim an academic theology credential. Questions about doctrine, translation choices and generated answers need named primary texts or qualified theological review. A software comparison cannot replace either one.

How I handle the first-place app

Bible Expert leads the current general score because its documented platform range, sync, offline reading, audio and verse-citing AI cover more of the fixed matrix than the other apps reviewed. Its profile also records weaker proof for Windows, an older Linux package, unclear cross-store purchase rights and conflicting Apple and Google privacy declarations.

Other apps win narrower decisions. I would direct a reader to YouVersion for a large free community, Logos for deep library-based study, Blue Letter Bible for free original-language tools, Dwell for a focused paid listening product and Bible.is for free multilingual audio.
